At the end of 2015, Haystack Dryers initiated their first dryer lease under the Haystack Hotel Program at the Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort in Orlando. This is an environmentally friendly program devised to reduce the burden of towel usage at hotels with high use pool areas.
The Haystack Hotel Program differs from the theme park, water-ride model by installing a dryer poolside for a low-cost flat monthly lease, which the hotel operates as a free-vend service to the lucky pool visitors.
Wayne Jacks, US Operations Manager for Haystack Dryers said, "We expected the first hotel lease dryer to be busy and popular with visitors, but we did not expect the overwhelming support and usage that the dryer has received. A wet towel weighs more than 1lb, and the industry norm to launder a wet towel is around $0.50 per lb. If we can save just 1 towel from being laundered per dryer use, we can save the hotel thousands of dollars per month in laundry costs, as well as reducing the amount of electricity, chemicals, logistics and man power that the hotel uses to keep the poolside towel bins stocked."
